2009 Petite Sirah – RCV Selection
Arizona Stronghold Vineyard
The cuttings for the vines giving rise to this wine came from the mighty Ranchita Canyon Vineyard in Northern Paso Robles. For years, Ranchita Petite (from the parent vineyard) has graced the cellars of our Inner Circle membership, and now we are proud to release this from Ranchita progeny. Interestingly, the Petite from Paso is also very rich and silky, but lacks the spiciness and complexity that this wine exhibits. I can certainly trace similarities between the two vineyards based on the vine stock, but I just can’t help but jump ship to Arizona. Let us know what you think. RCV in Paso is a hard act to follow. How did Arizona do?
