I first started working with Shell Creek Vineyards in 1997 while at David Bruce Winery. I’ll never forget the first time we brought these immaculate, black grapes in. The fermentation was like squid ink and the aromas of anise and the ripest of blackberries filled the air. Twelve years later I planted Shell Creek cuttings in our Estate Vineyard and have the honor of bringing in fruit from the parent vineyard as well. This MASSIVE wine is loaded with boysenberry, licorice, caramel and creme brulee. Extremely rich and equally tannic, let this one breathe and make sure to have it with some strong cheese or a good cut of beef.
