07 Arizona Stronghold Vineyards Mourvedre
For some time now Mourvedre has placed just behind Syrah as my favorite grape to make wine from. 2007 is a year that leads me to reconsider this long standing rivalry. It has also led me to plant more Mourvedre! Stronghold Vineyard sits at 4300′ on the western flank of the Dos Cabezas Mountains and is graced with deep, sandy, clay-loam soils. This wine is rich and complex with intense black cherry and hints of fennel and black tea. If you like Spanish wines, you’ll love this release.
