07 Arizona Stronghold Vineyard Saigne

This year’s Saigne is 75% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and is our first Arizona Saigne’. Saigne’ literally translated from French means “to bleed” and this is how this wine came to be. This delicate and fruity wine came from juice that was bled off of fermentations before much color soaked from the skins. The wines that were thus concentrated as the proportion of skins to juice had then been increased. The pink juice was then fermented in stainless tanks at a cool temperature to keep delicate aromas and favors from “burning off” during fermentation. Serve this wine chilled and enjoy its delicious pink and red fruit characters.
