06 Ranchita Canyon Vineyard Petite Sirah
I first started working with Bill Hinrichs of Ranchita Canyon Vineyard when I was at David Bruce in California and have finally received the honor of working with his Petite. Ranchita Canyon sits high in the hills on northern Paso Robles outside of the Mission de San Miguel. Like many of our top sites, RCV is underlain by limestone and has a mix of gentle and severe slopes. This is possibly the finest Petite I have ever tasted. The relatively low alcohol and concentration of flavor lends us perfect balance. Pipe tobacco, black & red raspberry, kirsch, olive and red roses are but a few of the luscious characters in the multi-facted wine.
