06 Melange du Rhone Vineyard Counoise

Counoise is one of the thirteen varietals grown in Chateauneuf and may comprise up to 10% of the great blends from this region. It is a large grape with thick skin and medium-dark color. While I still feel we are getting to know this grape, I have hopes of cultivating it in the near future. This wine shows bright acidity, red cherry, orange spice and a dusty, brambly character. While this bottling showcases this varietal, we look forward to working this into our blends in the future as well.
