06 Lakeview Vineyard Syrah
Now in the sixth year of making wines from Ron Frudden’s Lakeview Vineyard, I am still amazed at how easy it is for me to identify this wine blind. In 2006, this vineyard designate shows the site characters even more strongly than ever: well balanced syrah with a soft blackberry base overlaid by ripe peach, hazelnut and the slightest hint of Herbes de Provence. The wine should show well in its youth, improving with age for a couple of years.
