05 Rio San Lucas Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel

The very first wine I ever made (professionally) under my own label (which was called Sierra Prieta Cellars) was an Old Vine Zinfandel from Rio San Lucas Vineyard. Unfortunately, I was only able to purchase this fruit for one year, as the big prestigious wineries of California wanted all of this fruit for themselves. Almost a decade later, a small amount of this precious Zin found its way to our fermentors here in Page Springs and back into my life. This wine is all about intense, jammy fruit and classic Zin-peppery spice – absolutely true to the grape and absolutely mouth-watering delicious.
