04 Paso Robles Mourvedre

This delicious, 100% Mourvedre, comes from the Juan Nevarez Vineyard in Paso Robles. Juan Nevarez was the founding vineyard manager for the famous Justin Estate Vineyard. True to varietal character (but with possibliy more fruit than we sometimes see) this mid-weight, balanced wine is graced with flavors of ripe, tart red cherries, star anise, and subtle sandalwood spice. This wine is drinking beautifully now. It’s ample acidity allows it to accompany a variety of foods. Try it in place of Pinot Noir alongside wild mushroom dishes, with rich, fatty fish (such as farm-raised salmon), or among soft ripened cow cheeses.
