As founding vineyard manager of famous Justin Vineyards Estate in Paso Robles, Juan Nevarez’s own vineard is no less impressive. This wine brings together the classic strengths of old world winemaking styles with a touch of new world ripeness. Juicy, dark fruit flavors are framed and accentuated by dark tobacco, anise and earthy spice in this delicious wine. These flavors are even more compelling amongst the perfectly balanced acidity and ample, fine-grained tannins. As I sit here at midnight tasting and writing about this wine, I can barely find the focus to write as the glass keeps pulling me back in. This is what a truly amazing wine does: it makes you crave the next taste.
