Of the hundred-or-so cases of RSL Pinot we could have produced this year, we chose to limit it to 25. This represents a single barrel out of four. Certainly riper and richer than our bright 2003 effort, this was the only barrel that didn’t seem completely over the top. Dark cherries, cinnamon spice, wild mushrooms and forest floor typify this release. Only hints of oak are present as this wine was aged in a four-year old barrel. So, please do accept our apologies in advance. We aren’t releasing much Pinot this year, but the small amount we are letting go is great!
